24 South Street, Ventnor

Referred to as ‘Home Farm by the Sea’ by some

Thinking of escaping to the Isle of Wight? Here is all you need to know about 24 South Street.

  • Where you will stay...

24 South Street is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with panoramic views of the sea, located in the old victorian coastal town of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight. Downstairs there is a sitting room, kitchen and separate dining area (with panoramic views out to sea), bathroom and separate shower room. Head upstairs (take your pick as the house boasts TWO) and find 3 double bedrooms and a bathroom - including a bath for warming up after a cold dip!

The house has a private garden with the infamous ‘Ibiza deck’ perfect for drinks, games or soaking up the sun. The dining room opens up onto a terrace with outdoor dining area, and there is a barbecue waiting in the shed ready for you to cook up a feast.

It is the perfect escape for a relaxing weekend with everything you need in walking distance from the house. Equally, there is more than enough to on the island to keep you occupied for longer stays or return visits!

  • What you can do...

Staying right by the sea, and with Ventnor’s micro-climate, the obvious things to do are varied walks, swims and relaxing on the beaches. But Ventnor is also home to many delicious restaurants (lots with epic views), an award winning ice-cream shop and plenty of interesting local shops. The walks locally suit whatever you fancy - a satisfyingly steep slep to the top of Ventnor downs to the highest point on the IoW for views for miles - or a gentle stroll along the coastal path to the famous “Crab shed” for a crab pasty and swim.

On the rare occasion that the weather is not on your side, the house is still a lovely space to enjoy the seaviews, settle into a good series or play endless games around the table. There are also plenty of other attractions to explore on the island, a favourite of ours is Osbourne House.
